Vediamo quindi quali sono le basi da cui partire.<\/p>\n<h2>La struttura delle pagine<\/h2>\n<p>Una pagina in WordPress presenta una struttura che si articola in quattro blocchi: l&#8217;<strong>header<\/strong>, cio\u00e8 l&#8217;intestazione; il <strong>content<\/strong>, cio\u00e8 il corpo della pagina; la <strong>sidebar<\/strong>, cio\u00e8 l&#8217;area che \u00e8 destinata a sottomenu e widget; e il <strong>footer<\/strong>, cio\u00e8 il fondo della pagina. Per le pagine dei singoli post, poi, deve essere tenuta in considerazione un&#8217;ulteriore area, che \u00e8 quella in cui vengono inseriti i commenti.<\/p>\n<p>La funzione <em>include ()<\/em>, in PHP, presenta il contenuto di un file esterno dentro uno script; tuttavia, nel momento in cui si sviluppa un tema di WordPress, non \u00e8 consigliabile ricorrere a <em>include ()<\/em> ma a funzioni caratteristiche del framework che offrono la possibilit\u00e0 inserire i template che formano le parti della pagina in maniera pi\u00f9 facile e sicura. Vi sono, poi, i template tags: si tratta delle funzioni <em>get_header ()<\/em>, <em>get-sidebar ()<\/em> e <em>get-footer ()<\/em>, che servono a includere <em>header.php<\/em>, <em>sidebar.php<\/em> e <em>footer.php<\/em>, che sono i template generali, in modo dinamico. Il loop, invece, \u00e8 il ciclo iterativo che genera i contenuti della pagina. Per creare un template WordPress \u00e8 indispensabile avere dimestichezza con i loop, all&#8217;interno del quale sono compresi ulteriori <strong>template tags<\/strong> con cui si manda l&#8217;output a video e si ha l&#8217;accesso al database. <\/p>\n<h3>L&#8217;header<\/h3>\n<p>Vale la pena di focalizzarsi, poi, su <em>get-header ()<\/em>, il template tag che comprende il template <em>header.php<\/em>; nel caso in cui sia presente per questo tipo di pagina un template pi\u00f9 specifico, esso deve prendere il nome di <em>header{nome del template}.php<\/em>. Per fare un esempio, la pagina iniziale di un sito potrebbe includere una specifica intestazione all&#8217;interno del template <em>header-home.php<\/em>. Va detto che il file <em>header.php<\/em> \u00e8 quello che genera la parte superiore (quella che presenta il <strong>menu di navigazione<\/strong>) della pagina, e contiene l&#8217;intestazione del documento HTML, unitamente con i tag link e script. I tag del core vengono impiegati al fine di recuperare dal database informazioni che servono, poi, per dare vita alla struttura HTML della pagina.<\/p>\n<h3>Il content<\/h3>\n<p>Il contenuto pu\u00f2 essere diverso a seconda della <strong>tipologia di pagina<\/strong>: una pagina di categoria conterr\u00e0 l&#8217;elenco dei post, una pagina di contatto presenter\u00e0 una mappa e una form, una pagina &#8220;Eventi&#8221; conterr\u00e0 un calendario, una gallery conterr\u00e0 foto e video. Infine la home page conterr\u00e0 un misto di tutte i precedenti contenuti, disposti in base alle nostre esigenze.<\/p>\n<h3>La sidebar<\/h3>\n<p>Vi \u00e8, quindi, la sidebar, che non \u00e8 altro che un <strong>contenitore dei widget<\/strong> e dei sottomenu del sito (categorie, tag, eccetera): questi ultimi sono blocchi di codice HTML al cui interno sono proposte informazioni connesse ai contenuti. All&#8217;interno di una stessa pagina si possono trovare molteplici sidebar: ciascuna di esse \u00e8 posizionata in un&#8217;area differente.<\/p>\n<h3>Il footer<\/h3>\n<p>La parte bassa della pagina, invece, prende &#8211; come detto &#8211; il nome di footer: essa include <strong>informazioni aggiuntive<\/strong>, form di ricerca, note di copyright, e cos\u00ec via. Possono essere presenti, insomma, tanti tipi di informazioni differenti, al punto che all&#8217;interno del footer pu\u00f2 trovarsi un&#8217;ulteriore sidebar.<\/p>\n<p>Nel momento in cui l&#8217;utente di un sito fa clic su una voce specifica di un menu, viene inviata una query string dal client al server in funzione della quale WordPress sceglie i contenuti e i template che deve essere adottato per generare la pagina, secondo la logica classica della <strong>Template Hierarchy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Chi vuole <strong>creare un template WordPress<\/strong> ha, da questo punto di vista, una certa libert\u00e0 di scelta, nel senso che non esistono delle norme universali a proposito della struttura che un template file deve presentare.
